'Getting to Know Your Glass' Workshop |
Glass Monkey Art Studio is hosting the "Getting to Know Your Glass" for the management and sales people of your smoke shop. This workshop is designed to give you a deeper insight into borosilicate flameworked pipe-making. It is our intent to help educate your staff as to what goes into making the products, understanding various techniques, and learning the terminology. It is our belief that your shop will benefit greatly from this workshop and we are honored to have you. We have room for 5 people for this workshop. This work shop will be free of charge and is our way to give back.
At this workshop you will be meeting the Glass Monkey Art Studio artists. See our artist in action... as they demonstrate the skills they have learned. Chat with the artists and ask those questions you have been so curious to know about our craft.
We will take you on a tour or the studio. You will see what a flameworking studio looks like and the tools we use. Our artists will show you what goes into making each piece with several live demonstrations.
We will explain the art and science behind flameworking. A lot of the mysteries will be revealed and your customers will enjoy hearing about your experiences and the knowledge you gain will be very helpful in making sales.
After learning some important safety information, you will be given a chance to play with glass in the flame by making some color stringers. You can also attempt to make a pipe cleaning poker if you feel inclined. You will see how challenging this craft is and glean a deeper appreciation for a well made piece.
Give us a call at 512-524-0868 and schedule your workshop at your earliest convenience.
